| I am continuing this conversation because feral cat problems are really bad in MN. It horrible to see the conditions of some of these very inbred or ill cats. Sometimes the issue gets so out of control people don't know were to begin. It can also be very costly inless a program willing to help steps in. But finding those programs can be hard to find. We seem to have a knowledgable member here who has really stepped up to the plate and took responsibility and great care of the feral cats in possesion! YAY! If you have info on a spay/neuter program in your area that some one could benefit from please post that information. | |

| Your welcome, feel free to start any new topics were you see fit. That's what this board is for! You have done an amazing job with your ferals and I know that is alot easier said then done. Kudos to you! I do know of Animal Ark in Hastings, I am about 45 minutes from there. I am surprised to hear they never returned the call back to help these people and cats out. I always feel so bad for alot of them in the winter. When you said you had a heated room I was very impressed! | |

| Oh yea, a heated room is a must for my babies in the winter! They also have a ceiling fan in the summer! Can we say spoiled furbabies! LOL! I wouldn't have it any other way! | |

| I have a very bad feral cat problem on my mothers farm. I get all of my kitten rescues from this colony. Unfortunately no one cares enough about the problem to offer free or cheap services. Animal ark does have neuter commuter but you have to have over 20 cats to be spay/neuter its around 30-50 each cat depending on sex and all the money has to be PIF before they come out. (over 6 million a year in donations) AHS has a mobile unit, I am unaware of what they charge. (over 11 million a year in donations) Feral Cat Rescue/Scram etc get no funding, and very little donations. They will do free spays on mamma cats if you give them the litter of kittens. I am pretty sure they vaccinate the mammas too. They can also try to coordinate colony spay/neuters for little or no money from the home owner, however, its hard to coordinate and can take weeks. I am currently trying to work something out with them to deal with our farm. Hope this information helps | |

| I am pretty sure it IS illegal. shooting any animal without a permit is 1. poaching 2. animal abuse 3. improper disposal of a carcus (if they leave it) technically if you catch someone and have proof its a pretty big deal. but a lot of people in rural areas dont give a crap and just let it happen. | |

| Hmm, its still animal cruelty and if the shot someones pet well there you go, and just like you said how do they know its feral. Its a lot of sneaky stuff but I am sure if we checked with a lawyer who would keep up on laws like this we could find out the ins and outs. People who do that should be shot themselves! | |
