Parakeets' or keets'

I have a keet named stewie. I begged and begged and begged to get this darn bird. They can talk with training, they can really attach to you, they arent very loud or messy. Etc. Well got him in april from a bird fair - hes not overly friendly and is only interested in his toys and trying to kill the cat as the cat is evil too.

So I finally gave him a mirror because he didnt bond to me and he looked so sad alone in his cage. He has tons of toys and stuff well now hes got a mirror stewie and hes happy and LOUD :: eye roll::

Prolly get a jenday/sun conure mix or something if I ever get a bird, >.< something that eats a lot of stuff that you can bond with it can be out on your shoulder and it wont fly away etc. I want a bird that can hang out with me without like being scared to death LOL.

I really like suns/jendays but they can be super super loud. I did search for a few months before stewie for suns/jendays for sale and found some really nice ones that were quiet but I ended up not able to get them.

anyway so keets are great look at me birds, and pretty skitish and seem to be left on their own IMO. whatever you read about the bonding, it must take a long time cuz its been a few months and he still thinks im godzilla.
